Discover the Natural Beauty and Adventure of the Norfolk Broads

The Norfolk Broads, a picturesque national park in East Anglia, are an idyllic destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. This stunning wetland landscape boasts over 125 miles of navigable waterways, dotted with charming villages, historic towns, and abundant wildlife. In this blog post, I'll take you through five of the top places to visit in the Norfolk Broads and the exciting activities you can do there.

Horsey Windpump - A Historic Landmark Horsey Windpump is a striking windmill that dates back to the 19th century and stands at the edge of the Horsey Mere. You can climb to the top of the windmill for breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside or take a leisurely walk around the picturesque Horsey Mere, home to a variety of bird species.

Horning - The Jewel of the Norfolk Broads - Horning is a beautiful riverside village located on the River Bure. It is situated in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. Horning is renowned for boating (with the Mississippi River Boat - a double-deck paddle boat luxury cruiser leaving from here daily in summer), but if you don't fancy boating, Horning has so much more to offer. You could spend a whole day wandering the beautiful, quaint streets, sitting outside the three riverside pubs, or on the stunning green, relaxing with a picnic from one of the many cafes and delis.

Wroxham - "The Capital of the Broads" Located on the River Bure, Wroxham is the largest village in the Norfolk Broads and a hub for boating and fishing. You can hire a boat to explore the vast network of waterways, or simply stroll along the riverbanks and take in the beautiful scenery. The village is also home to the award-winning Wroxham Barns, an artisanal shopping and dining complex featuring local crafts and cuisine.

Hickling Broad - A Nature Lover's Paradise - Hickling Broad is the largest of the Norfolk Broads and a designated National Nature Reserve, teeming with rare and diverse wildlife. You can explore the trails around the broad, take a boat ride to discover the surrounding marshes, or join a bird-watching tour to spot some of the 300 species that call this area home.

BeWILDerwood - Fun for the Whole Family - BeWILDerwood (just outside of Horning) is a whimsical, outdoor adventure park that will delight children and adults alike. The park is built around the popular children's book series, and features treetop walks, zip wires, and a host of fun and interactive activities. You can also enjoy a picnic or relax at one of the many cafes while taking in the beautiful surroundings.

The Norfolk Broads offer a unique and diverse range of activities and sights that make it a must-visit destination for any traveler. With its picturesque waterways, charming villages, historic landmarks, and abundance of wildlife, the Broads provide an unforgettable experience for all who visit.
